“Paupers and kings, princes and thieves
Singers of songs, righters of wrongs, be what you believe.
So saddle your horse and shoulder your load.
Burst at the seams, be what you dream, and take to the road.”

A few hours ago, I landed in Los Angeles, turned on my phone, and confirmed what you already know. Sony Pictures Television is replacing me as showrunner on Community, with two seasoned fellows that I’m sure are quite nice - actually, I have it on good authority they’re quite nice, because…

Um, wait, how have I never seen this before?

Black Girl Dangerous: Obama Loves Queers! (Except Not)

President Obama just “endorsed” gay marriage. And guess what? I barely give a damn.

I mean, don’t get me wrong, it’s okay. It’s fine. There’s nothing inherently wrong with it. Saying that gay people who want to get married to each other should be able to do so is basically a…

“My point is, straight folks are not held to criteria such as love or monogamy or even commitment when being assessed for the right to marry. (And nor should they be.) Which means that all this talk of marriage “equality” is a kind of a joke.”

“‎This year we saw many hilarious performances by women, and many idiotic articles from men about how women suddenly became funny. Yes, imagine how great ‘The Mary Tyler Moore Show’ would have been had Mary, Betty White, Cloris Leachman, and Valerie Harper actually been funny. If only Lucille Ball, Carol Burnett, Gilda Radner, and Julia Louis-Dreyfus had been able to get a laugh. I guess what I’m saying is, this isn’t the year that women finally became funny. This is the year that men finally pulled their heads out of their asses.”

The fans have a term that I’ve learned which is fantastic. It’s called ‘squee.’ S-Q-U-E-E. I’ll tell you I kept reading it going, ‘What does that mean?’

And then I walked onto the helicarrier. It’s a helicarrrier. I walked into the first scene, I walked through the door, and all of a sudden, I was looking at a kind of roundtable, around which was seated Thor, Captain America, Bruce Banner, Nick Fury, and Black Widow…

And I thought [small voice], ‘Squee!’

I get it now! Then I look around and it’s Robert Downey, Jeremy Renner, and Scarlett. Johannson. [sighs]. And I’m having the actor’s squee too!

“Today is 4/20. …This is like National Pot Day, okay? And people celebrate all over the world — although I must say the (U.S.) Senate did not celebrate this by smoking joints. for two reasons: one, it would be against protocol, and two, it would mean passing something.”

The Ethical Rot Behind 'Before Watchmen' & 'The Avengers' [Opinion]

The law is on the side of the corporations, but it is clear to me that Marvel and DC are morally and ethically in the wrong. They employed an exploitative, dishonest, and insulting assault on creator’s rights in the past, and they’re reaping the benefits of that assault now.

You learn something new every day.
